18th August

Video footage has been released of Mr. Hague in his constituency, guest of honour at our retreat, residential and holiday centre.  The 2nd of four media compilations shot at the Opening of the Nigel Cole Studio Theatre at The Old Mill Centre in Richmond, this YouTube clip can be viewed  by following the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xOfS99pchwc&sns=em

Appreciatively welcomed by Directors Barbara & Mick Sutcliffe-Cole, the former Foreign Secretary enjoyed a tour of the Old Mill’s accommodation & refurbished existing studio.  The buzz of excitement mounted as guests, local musicians and artists gathered round him as he cut the ribbon, declaring officially that the newly built studio theatre was open.

The studio theatre, built in memory of Barbara’s first husband Nigel, is a fabulous space where guests can do whatever they feel inspired to do!  The centre is now also offering an increasing variety of courses and workshops as presented on their website www.oldmillcentre.co.uk , many which draw upon the restorative and life-enhancing properties of the performing & creative arts.  Using creative expression via the arts, guests now have the opportunity to unlock energy for healing and restoring – to live fully and confidently.

Following the release of this recent video excerpt plus the montage of photographs launched earlier this month, two further clips from the same event will soon be on view to the public: the Speeches; and the Blessing of the David Sutcliffe Quiet Room.
Our grateful thanks go to Iain MacBrairdy, son of our Associate Diane, who kindly volunteered ‘on the spot’ to record this significant day at our centre, in June 2012.  Thanks once again to Barbara’s daughter Emily for editing the original footage, ready for YouTube.

The photo is of William Hague with local artist Aileen Harvey in the refurbished studio. If you stay at The Old Mill Centre you'll find an endearing painting of a sheep in the main bedroom painted by Aileen.
