Performing & Creative Arts Activities

Our performing and creative arts facilities are available for the benefit of voluntary organisations, charities, pastoral recommendations and for commercial use.

Expression through performance and creative arts

A passion for enabling expressive creativity via the performing & creative arts is the focal point around which the vision for The Old Mill Centre revolves.

Space to express yourself

  • Do you run or are you part of a music, dance or drama group?
  • Do you run or are you part of a creative arts group - be it painting, drawing, writing poetry/creative writing, photography, crafts, embroidery, banner making, flower arranging or pottery?
  • Do you need somewhere to host a performing or creative arts workshop?

Barbara and Mick would like to invite you and your group to stay at The Old Mill Centre – your place for space.

Your group can have free rein of the entire centre. You are welcome to spread yourself out in all the rooms of the Mill itself and in the studio rooms, including the David Sutcliffe Room and even the utility room! These rooms could be especially useful for sectional rehearsals, individual craft projects, group preparation and/or discussion.

The Nigel Cole Studio Theatre, however, is an inspirational space in which your group can make music, have freedom to move around and really make use of the space. Take the opportunity to benefit from this specialist facility to stimulate your creative juices.

The Nigel Cole Studio Theatre

  • make music
  • freedom to move about
  • stimulate creativity

How can we make best use of the facilities?

You have two options available to you:

Option 1

Your group can organise your own programme of activities and be self-directed either using the rooms available in the Mill itself or by additionally hiring the Nigel Cole Studio Theatre.

At an agreed charge a tutor can also be arranged to aid you in your creative venture.

Option 2

Take advantage of the tailored courses on offer at The Old Mill Centre, under the guidance and direction of trained specialists.

(Please see our Courses, Workshops and Events Programme for more details)
