1st September

-

An extended programme of workshops at The Old Mill Centre over the autumn months has been stimulated by encouraging feed-back from participants.

Singing Workshops for both women and children will make a welcome return on 27th September and 1st November.

Performers, with little or lots of experience, are invited to play or sing at the next Showcase Entre Nous, also on the 1st November. Participants are the only audience. This early notice gives performers plenty of chance to get out instruments and vocal chords, and begin making music!

As promised, new exciting workshops are being introduced into the Old Mill programme. Two practical and experiential Alexander Technique days will be held, skilfully led by fully qualified & experienced teacher Hilary Cook MSTAT. An Introductory Alexander Technique session on 18th October will help you to improve your posture, de-stress, ease back ache as well as to move with less effort and tension. The workshop will be related to everyday activities but would also be a great introduction for this second session........

At an Introductory Alexander Technique and Performing Arts day on the 15th November, Hilary will offer advice on how to improve posture and how to use the voice & play instruments with less effort and tension.

Finally, creating ‘you’ space before the busy Christmas season, change worker Catherine Davies will lead Looking Ahead, an Expressive Arts Retreat Day for Women on 29th November. Focusing on the future, Catherine will enable participants to identify areas of their life they’d like to change through arts & craft activity. Opportunities for expression through song and song-writing will be coached by local song-writer Kirsti-Anna Hume and the centre’s Musical Director Barbara Sutcliffe-Cole.

The Old Mill Centre looks forward to welcoming you to the Nigel Cole Studio Theatre in the coming months!
