18th March

An inspiring songwriting workshop on Saturday 29th March at The Old Mill Centre, Richmond will give both experienced writers and complete beginners a chance to explore new ways to write songs and unleash their creative flow.

This unique workshop, led by experienced songwriter and teacher Kirsti-Anna Hume will encourage writers to look to their own lives for finding inspiration and new starting points for creative work.

Kirsti-Anna Hume, whose songs have recently been aired on the BBC Introducing radio show says: “Musicians and songwriters are bombarded with information about how to write great songs, but so often the songs that resonate with us the most are those written from the heart - often with very little thought or even skill involved. This workshop is not about how to write a number one hit, but about looking at your own life experience and writing about what is important and meaningful to you.”

No experience of writing songs is necessary and musical knowledge is helpful but not essential.  Experienced musicians are encouraged to bring their own instruments.  The workshop runs from 10.30am – 3.00pm and costs £20. For more information or to book your place call Kirsti-Anna Hume on (01325) 718602 or visit www.oldmillcentre.co.uk
